Departure Control System At Airports
The main function of this system is the automation of all operations related to an Airline's management operations. This web-based system is integrated with the Airline Control Manager (ACM) and the Internet Reservation Engine (IRE). The integration is done in a synchronous manner. This helps in the procedure related to verification and updation of passengers and baggages. The system uploads data with reference to the PNR specifications. Departure Control System forms the integral part of Airline Distribution System (ADS) and is connected with ISDN backed up leased lines at the airports.
Departure Control System enables
* An easy and quick check in for passengers and baggage in a few minutes- It also has added feature of group check-in. It can also help passenger save cost by adjusting the weights of baggage to avoid excess baggage.
* It prints an automated boarding pass- A pre printed boarding pass ticket, provided by the Airlines also allows free seating facility automatically.
* The counting of number of passengers boarding a particular flight and their details. This work is easily done using DCS. This data is extremely urgent for the flight dispatch unit at the airport.
* DCS enables the easy tracking of the baggage count along with their weight and passenger count as well. It also mentions the total aircraft load for a particular flight. This report helps in building the 'Load & Trim' sheet for each flight. This report is required before the departure of any scheduled flight.
* It also keep track of Flight Information which includes flight status information viz. Expected Departure Time, Actual Departure Time, Expected Arrival Time, and Actual Arrival Time of all the Airline flights at the destination airports.
* DCS prepares the report called Flight Departure Analysis. This report comprises of departure details of all the flights from particular airport. It also maintains the light Arrival Analysis comprising of Arrival reports of various flights leaving that airport.
* It allows easy de check-in of the passengers after checking-in.
